Last week I did 2 fantastic live webinars (free, of course) with Jim Morris. Jim is the owner of Nichebot and a keyword research expert.
You can watch a replay of the webinar here.
This is a replay of Part I. Jim covers his propietary 5 step process for keywoprd research.
We demo his own system, NicheBot, but everything talked about can be applied using whatever keyword research system you use.
But, there’s GOOD, BAD and UGLY news too.
The bad – Part II of the webinar didn’t record. In part II, we covered how to actually USE those keywords on your site once you’ve found them. On-page optimization and then, link building done proper.
Edited: Part II is now available here!
The UGLY – Jim offered to give new Nichebot subscribers DOUBLE credits on a quarterly (or higher) subscription to the service. But that offer expires Wednesday, so you’ve got to get on it RIGHT NOW. Sign up here.
The GOOD!
Actually, two good bits.
1. If you’re not sure what Nichebot is all about, you can take the $1 trial (no risk) right here. It’s a risk-free way to check out the system for yourself.
This is the service I use, and love, because it puts EVERYTHING you need right at your fingertips (multiple keyword databases, sorting, cleaning lists, competition numbers, EVERYTHING is right there – and it’s darn fast!)
2. Jim made an INCREDIBLE 1 page (so it’s simple & easy to work with) PDF that will guide you in promoting your site. There’s a plan for Light, medium and intense promotion – you pick what fits your availability, and implement it.
You can download that file on the Webinar Replay page. And I suggest you do, as it’s as clear-cut a program as I’ve ever seen, but it works because of it’s simplicity.
A big part of this business – getting traffic – comes from selecting the right keywords. I’ve discovered, via the personal coaching I’m doing with people, that selecting good keywords, optimizing your site for them and then promoting your site with off-page optimization is an area that people are severly lacking in.
I know picking keywords is not necessarily “exciting” work… It’s not like the screenshots of $100k days that get people all hot under their collars. But it’s INTEGRAL to your marketing process, if you want to get search engine traffic.
Without good keywords, the search engines won’t send you traffic. Without traffic, your product or affiliate offers will never be seen.
Please… Please… Take this to heart. It’s the first step you should take before EVER building a site.
1. Get a keyword research system (I use NicheBot)
2. Follow Jim’s 5 Step Plan on finding GOOD keywords (watch the video here)
3. Follow the Promotion plan outlined in the PDF download (download from here)

I will definitely take a look at the material. Choosing keywords can sometimes be confusing and I am trying to pick keywords for my new site right now. Hopefully the above mentioned webinar will help. Thanks for the information.

Keyword research is exactly as you pointed out, the FIRST step. I also think it the most important. Optimizing for the wrong keywords happens all the time and is a waste of resources.
