So you go to the supermarket and there’s something like 12 kinds of mayonaise to choose from. Mayonaise isn’t just mayonaise anymore, eh? There’s fat free, low carb, light, weird flavors (what’s the miracle of Miracacle Whip?), organic, all natural. And each brand has several of these varieties. And yet, despite what seems like overlap – and overkill -they all stay in business, most of the time for a long while.

Your product line needs to be the same. A product for everyone, at every stage.
If you sell copyrighting information, the next logical step could be an Adwords course – all your customers now have this great copy they learned from you and they need to get traffic to it.
You sell baby booties. Next market toddler ones. The kids usually grow – fill the need.
When your customers have a pleasant experience buying from you, they are happy to go back to you and buy more. Make it easy for them. Provide a product to fill each and every need they could possibly have in your niche.
Don’t feel like getting into developing more products? Become an affiliate of something that fills their additional needs. Try to provide answers, in the form of products, for as many questions as your market has.
I offer an excellent link building tutorial. Next logical step? Based on user feedback, I could go many ways – basics of on-page optimization, making Wordpress a killer search engine magnet, shave your cat in 10 minutes without getting your eyes ripped out (just checking if you’re still there).
Going out and getting new customers is great, and we all should be doing it. But ensure that your current customers aren’t left with money in their pocket they’d prefer to spend with you, if you had something to offer them.
