Ohhh… Backlash! Backlash!
I’m so not about to get into the back and forth that has begun about Pay Per Post, but will point out Michel Fortin’s excellent post on same. His sentiments seem to mirror mine precisely.
And, BTW – I do use Pay Per Post to advertise, it provides some great SE and organic visitor fodder, and, as I wrote, think it’s a great business model.

Here is my take on Payperpost. It almost reminds me of when Overture first started serving ads (i.e. paid search) in the search engine results, I think 2001 or 2002. I remember there was an uproar in the media about the idea of “manipulating the search engine resultsâ€. Now, today every brand has adopted this model of advertising and it’s becoming (if not already) a billion dollar business; and it produces a strong ROI in most cases.
My two cents.
