The Content Desk team hosted an incredible call last night - of which I was honored to be a part of - on new Web 2.0 technologies (namely social networking and social bookmarking, in all their varied forms) and what they mean to online marketers.
The first part, with Jack Humphrey and myself is available on the CD Krewe blog. Jack covers the basics of the new technologies - and, in my opinion more importantly, the spirit behind it, as well as the broad “what it means to us as marketers” look. While it might sound dry, this is great stuff - one of few calls lately I haven’t felt like hanging up on (I seem to have lost tolerance for hype and pitches). I cover MySpace and drop a few “do’s” and “dont’s” for marketing to the MySpace set.
Next segment is Mike Filsaime and Colin McDougall. Mike has some great ideas for market research - stuff I certainly wasn’t aware of - and Colin gets into Google-approved site building.
