Too Big For Audio Only: New Facebook Pages

by Michelle MacPhearson on March 9, 2009

While Internet Marketing This Week is a podcast, this episode was too big to just go audio only.

As Facebook announced the changes to their “Pages” feature, Ed Dale, Lynn Terry, Paul Colligan and I decided we’d have to do a LIVE streaming video episode to discuss what this means for marketers.

Who should, and how should you use the new Facebook pages as part of your marketing efforts?  What are the differences between the new Pages and the old version?  Watch the stream below to get our input:

Facebook Marketing Actually Gets Interesting

by Michelle MacPhearson on March 5, 2009

I’ve not been a huge fan of Facebook for marketing purposes because having a crapload of friends makes it quite difficult to interact with them and manage your Facebook experience.

Facebook made an announcement yesterday that actually makes Facebook marketing viable for the average person.  Facebook “fan” pages just got revamped and behave more like a regular profile page (except you can still message all your fans).  What does this mean to you?  Big things:

Tonight, myself and my Internet Marketing This Week colleagues (Ed Dale, Lynn Terry & Paul Colligan) will hop on a live Ustream broadcast to discuss the changes at 7pm EST.  Watch it here.

Lest you think this is old hat, let me assure you - THIS IS HUGE, a true game-changer, a REALLY BIG FREAKIN’ DEAL.

Join us on the LIVE broadcast at 7pm EST tonight right here!

(This is an Internet Marketing This Week first too - we’ve never gone live).

Join my Facebook Page to see how I’m using it in my marketing.

What Do You Think About “Spam” Marketing Emails?

by Michelle MacPhearson on March 5, 2009

I really want to know your opinion on this one.

Ed Dale, Lynn Terry & I recorded episode #12 of Internet Marketing This Week and in it, all 3 of us have a little hissy fit (ok, Ed’s hissy fit is a full blown PO’ed rant) about “spam” marketing emails.  Now, before you jump to conclusions, download the broadcast (click here to get it directly in Itunes).

This is a huge mindset issue, and something I see as an absolute stalemate to one’s success.

I want to know what you think.  Leave your comments below or send them to @michellem on Twitter.

Nofollow & Meetups

Download the latest Internet Marketing This Week - it’s available now!
Paul, Ed, Lynn and I discuss the perils (ok, it’s just scary for me, being a total hermit) and benefits of arranging in-person local meetups within your niche and attending conferences.  Plus, we kill the “nofollow” debate for good on two levels, technical and mindset.
If [...]

It’s an issue we discussed on the first episode I did with the Internet Marketing This Week crew (direct link to subscribe in iTunes) and brought about the question, “How does one care for customers AFTER the sale is made?”
Jeff Walker joined us on the next episode of Internet Marketing This Week to discuss just [...]
