I’ve got a video I want you to watch.
It made it to VH1’s “Best Week Ever” show, was IFilm’s Pick of The Day, and has over 200k views on YouTube.
Besfore I send you that way, I want you to take note of a couple of very important marketing tactics used here:
1) The video begins and ends with a black screen & the URL of the originatng website. This is KEY! If you’re using video to bring traffic to your website, you’ve got to tell people what your website is!
2)Â He also has his URL at the bottom of the entire video -great idea, if people clip it or make mashups – he’s still getting credit for his work and visitors to his site.
3) It’s simple. Videos do not have to be over-budgeted monstrosities. Just the guy singing and some slideshow action is enough to make this video compelling.
4) Funny! The majority of commentors found the vid funny. It’s important to not take yourself too seriously. How can you inject some humor into your videos?
This is a classic example of viral marketing – I hope you take the time to have a look, and think about what can be done with your own video campaigns!
Here it is: White Chicks & Gang Signs
And this video: I’m Typing LOL received over 1 million YouTube views. It’s under 30 seconds -remember that your videos do not have to be full-length productions either!

Great tips Michelle and will definitely implement them on my vids!! I’ve got a couple of vids up in the martial arts/self defense cat.
Cheers,

Hi Michelle,
Great post! It has inspired me to immediately make changes to my first YouTube video venture. I created a little video to promote an affilate program and some of my competitors use it. Now I know how to brand it to get maximum traffic from it. Thanks.

Nice info. I did something like this once, where I used my site as the the ‘demo’ worked well, still getting a couple hundred u/v from it
Hi Michelle,
What a great example of how a simple video can get thousands of views.
I think a lot of internet marketers struggle with #4. We need to loosen up and have a little more fun with our videos.
