I really want to know your opinion on this one.
Ed Dale, Lynn Terry & I recorded episode #12 of Internet Marketing This Week and in it, all 3 of us have a little hissy fit (ok, Ed’s hissy fit is a full blown PO’ed rant) about “spam” marketing emails. Now, before you jump to conclusions, download the broadcast (click here to get it directly in Itunes).
This is a huge mindset issue, and something I see as an absolute stalemate to one’s success.
I want to know what you think. Leave your comments below or send them to @michellem on Twitter.

It’s not spam if you asked for the emails. But an ethical marketer(which you all are)has to be careful and not abuse the use of email marketing. While I may have asked for the emails I don’t want to be bombarded daily with info on whatever is being sold.
Moderation in everything…except popcorn…never too much popcorn. But that’s just me!
I agree 100% with you guys on this. If I requested it, it’s not spam. If you only send me sales pitches or info that isn’t good enough to waste my time with, I’ll unsubscribe.
Only if there is no unsubscribe link in the mail will I consider marking it as spam.
To me it’s not spam, people should not complain about what they sign up for if they are looking to learn about internet marketing. you guys are right on the money. email is easy if you don’t know who it came from opt out or for me hit delete, not hard!
