Smart tshirt designers are taking advantage of the Digg uprising over “the numbers”. There’s got to be some tech conference coming up one would be given uber-cool status for wearing these Digg / Numbers Revolt shirts to.
What to learn from this?
Keep an eye on your market – any news, however insignificant to the rest of the world, could be huge to those passionate about a niche. React quickly. CafePress is a simple interface if the news lends itself to a graphical representation.
Even if there’s nothing you can (think of to) sell, posting about the event w/ Adsense could lead to some serious traffic, and will identify you as someone who’s very much on top of the market (thus, an expert).
This is a short, but very powerful tip. I use Google Alerts to keep updated of niche happenings based on keywords, plus a steady diet of RSS feeds in Feeddemon.

Check out the buzz for the people who got there first. This wasn’t just a boon for Digg, but people getting to the story first and many subsequent posters really did some incredible traffic on this one.
This happens on a much smaller scale everyday for bloggers who keep up on their markets.
Since you mentioned a Digg revolt I am kind of leading one myself. It concerns your shout history that is actually public on Digg.
If you are shouting your own content on Digg it may hurt your search rankings.

Digg has yet to reply and I doubt they will.
Also be careful, posting negative content about Digg will get your URL banned.
I welcome your comments on my blog, here or via my email I supplied in this comment.
