Why I Did It – Did You Think This Too?

by Michelle MacPhearson

Last Thursday I wrote about a new Web 2.0 system that I’d *personally* reviewed in it’s *entirety* and, well, the results were insane…

See, a ton of people took advantage of the offer – which was cool, ’cause they’re now on their way to earning immediate income with social media properties (the system is a total step-by-step way to get started actually EARNING online, no pie-in-the-sky theory).

But then I got a few messages that went like this:

“Is this really worth it? It screams scammy info marketer…  When the SSS site opened I was disappointed. I thought, “Oh great, not another screaming info marketer’s horrible landing page”.  Have you actually used this product? I took love the step by step stuff. I am really wary of site that look like SSS. “

I know, I know. The site isn’t exactly a study in modern design, LOL, see it here.

Here’s what I wrote back to these folks – and it’s a lesson for you, whether or not you decide this product matches your
needs:

The truth is, that style of site tends to convert more people into buyers. I know it’s not pretty, and I know the popups can be annoying, but that IS what sells, and that’s why people continue to use it.That said, I try not to judge a book by it’s cover. My sites don’t necessarily look like this guys site – I try to make mine a bit more aesthetically pleasing, LOL – but when I reviewed his content, the members area, the videos, forum, etc. it was the real deal, and thus my recommendation.

I mean, he’s not selling “How to Design Sites Web 2.0 Style” – that *would* be ludicrous, given the look of his site. He *is* selling “How To Make Immediate Income From Web 2.0″ which is about the content, not the look.

You don’t have to like it’s looks, but I can tell you with 100% certainty that what he’s selling does exactly what it
says on the tin, thus my recommendation.

So – the takeaway?

  1. Direct sales type sites, flashy graphics, loud headlines, popups etc. are used because they *work*. That IS why I and other top marketers use them.  We can afford more modern graphics, a “cleaner” design – but we don’t because this direct sales kind of site makes more money.  Period.
  2. Judging a book by it’s cover design can lead you to overlook some real gems. Luke’s system IS a gem within the pack of folks claiming to know Web 2.0 – his system WILL get you actually earning income online. That’s the ONLY focus – earning income. You’ll not find untested theory and marketing BS, but instead, a plan to follow that works (actually you get to pick from 3 blueprint style plans – to fit YOUR marketing style).  ...I’m glad my husband didn’t judge ME purely on looks – the first time he saw me I was in pajama pants, a baseball cap with no makeup and bad hair! I clean up ok though. :-)
  3. I only recommend that which I know works and that which I have personally reviewed (and you should do the same, if you’re affiliate marketing – it’s about integrity). I judge on content, not looks – and the content is there in buckets.

(Inside the member’s area are two bonus tools you’ll adore – the “Dominameter” and “SSS Circles.” The Dominameter will
help you quickly judge new markets, and the SSS Circles will, literally, bring you immediate traffic to your sites).

You can check it all out – and judge on the CONTENT (read the members’ own words too) right here.

If you missed Thursday’s post, it’s here – see what caused all the hoopla.

Hi Michelle,

I have read through the Surefire Success ebook and looked around the member’s area and I have to say I am very impressed with what is presented there. There’s some very useful information and although it may come across as another “guru” ebook with the appearance given by the sales page it really is far from that. As you say content is the most important thing and the content that Luke provides really is top notch. I have also been recommending this product both on my blog and to my list since I believe it enables anybody to start making their first dollars online.

haha I’m always wading through the testimonials looking for the price!

“yeah, yeah, how much is it?”

navigate away, $20 off . . . and I still don’t know how much it is! hahaha

It’s my personal mission to make pages that convert better and kill the horrible sales page of ugly forever.

I’ll let you know how it goes…
